The author explains different faces of machismo. Ingoldsby
believes that aggressiveness and “hypersexuality” are the two biggest
characteristics of Machismo. Most machos have to show that there are tough to
other man. They challenge other man with fists or weapons. Machos’ main goal
conquest many women, and the younger they are the better. They see their
actions as trophies or medals. This form of machismo needs to end because I believe
women deserve respect, they are not different form a man.

This article shows how Machismo plays a big role in the Latin
American population’s growth. Many machos don’t let their wives use birth
control because they believe it would diminish their manhood and women can
cheat on the males. The article states that 80 percent of the women who
use birth control do it without the husbands consent. Women who are found using
the birth control receive verbal and sometimes physical aggression.
Salam, Reihan. "The Death of Macho." Rereading
America. 8th ed
The article states how women are becoming more
equal to men all around the world. As a result of the financial frailer of the
male, Women around the world have decide to take a state forward. Iceland is a
great example of how women saw the responsibility to take control of their
country because of the males frailer. In the future we will probably see this
happen more often. It is a good thing that women are becoming more equal to
men.
